Beltà crudele - Videoclip
The first Amakheru Duo’s videoclip is online on ClassicVoice Tv, Vimeo, YouTube and Facebook. The video was based on the Song “Beltà Crudele”: a Chamber Aria for voice and piano composed by Gioachino Rossini in 1821 and published in its first printed edition for Girard in Naples in 1847. The project was dedicated to Adelina Patti and Daniela Dessì and represents an absolute novelty worldwide as it is the first music videoclip over a piece of vocal chamber music. The video has caught the interest of the public and critics both for the innovation in the use of the video languages and for the musical rediscovery in the Rossini field.
Rossini in a Mtv version. Amakheru Duo invents the first Italian lyrical video.
Objective: to disseminate the chamber music repertoire
A videoclip. Like those who have accompanied the spread of pop music for years. With one difference: instead of promoting the latest hit, it is destined to the immortal Rossini’s notes. It is the idea of Amakheru Duo, aka Francesco Santoli (tenor) and Simone Di Crescenzo (pianist). It can boast itself of a new record: it would be the first time that this happens for the “classical” music, and especially for a piece of vocal chamber music . […] The initiative is designed to promote the project of rediscovery and revival of the Italian Belcanto chamber repertoire undertaken by Amakheru Duo. A goal that the two young artists are carrying out with commitment and tenacity, achieving considerable success and recognition in Italy and abroad.
Amakheru Duo: Rossini’s “Beltà crudele” videoclip version
In the case of Amakheru Duo, the viewer is faced with one of the first videos ever capable of transforming a Chamber Aria into articulated execution, by mixing music with song, images, photographs, cinematic storytelling. […] Santoli is very well disengaged, assisted by Di Crescenzo, with whom he has developed a number of ornaments, added puntaturas and final cadenza, in the executive spirit of the period. The voice of the tenor has a very valuable timbre: clear, rich in harmonics, sweet and languid but without affectation; intonation and ability to reach even the highest notes perfectly; the touch of the pianist deftly tempers the decisive tone of the introduction and of the coda with the moments of closer vocal accompaniment. The impeccable sound and visual editing make the video a treat for the ears and the eyes. […] The harmony of Rossini and the beauty of the light hold out a positive and perennial sense to the art and to the work of those who renews it day by day: this is certainly the most beautiful message of Amakheru Duo’s videoclip.
Amakheru Duo, the Belcanto renaissance
…is already considered one of the most promising ensemble of the current Italian music scene. The Duo is devoted to the rediscovery of Belcanto and manages to combine tradition and innovation in the performances and projects undertaken. The first self-produced video has only been online for a while and represents an absolute novelty worldwide: it is the first video of a classic piece of chamber music for voice and piano in which the musical performance is combined with the cinematographic storytelling.
Amakheru Duo self-produces the first vocal chamber music videoclip entitled “Beltà crudele”. Novelty and history coexist in a new interesting project on Rossini’s music
Amakheru Duo is one of the first ensembles worldwide that has produced a videoclip of a classic song and specifically of a vocal and chamber music one. […] An absolute innovation in the field of classical music, with the aim to get even the youngesters to know a genre which has sometimes only been a niche one.
Amakheru Duo, from Rossini to Asia
The idea is to make available on the web an artistic product not only a musical one, accompanied by images that can evoke emotions and represent a fusion of different forms of art.
Another side of the 19th century with Amakheru Duo
The video “Beltà crudele” reveals a desire to combine modern video languages, today spreading media, with philological tools in the approach to the repertoire.
Amakheru Duo: between innovation and musical tradition
Francesco Santoli, tenor, and Simone Di Crescenzo, pianist: they are the two young Italian artists who are bringing to the fore a major project of musical rediscovery dedicated to the chamber music repertoire under the name of Amakheru Duo. A few days ago their first videoclip dedicated to a Rossini rarity was uploaded online…
The first Amakheru Duo’s video clip in online on Vimeo and Youtube
The video was based on the song “Beltà Crudele”: a chamber Aria for voice and piano composed by Gioachino Rossini in 1821 and published in its first printed edition for Girard in Naples in 1847. The text is a strophic song of the Baron of Santo Mango. The melody was particularly dear to the composer, who prepared several versions: in particular, the one proposed by Amakheru Duo is the closest to the first manuscript. This version presents considerable vocal difficulties, and has been enriched by the performers with puntatures and cadenzas, in the typical spirit of the age.
